    SHOES!

This is mostly for Joy, because I know she has been hearing about the shoes from Grandma Mary!

We love, love See Kai Run shoes. They just released their Spring/Summer line and each style is cuter than the next. They are the best shoes...so great for early walkers and as she's now a professional walker they are still exactly what we want. Very flexible yet with a nice, thick sole to protect her tootsies.

They are also stylish, super cute, and the company has great customer service.

    The website is:

    I highly recommend them!

    Hello Readers!

    17 months old (well...and 4 days!)

Arden is doing fabulously. She was pretty sick for a couple of weeks (bad cold that turned into an ear infection, but the tubes did their job). It screwed up her sleep a bit but she's on her way back to normal.

She has also settled back into the daycare routine. Every morning she runs for her classroom and gives her teachers bear hugs and runs off to play with her friends. She's absolutely a little girl now. She greets her friends when they walk in the door...she tries to comfort the new, younger toddlers with her words of wisdom. One little boy was so upset yesterday and I told her to go help Dante, he was sad because his daddy left for work. So she went over and spoke to him in "Ardenese" as we call it. She's very serious about what she's saying, even though some of it we just can't make out!

This morning her friend Ana walked in and Arden was the first to say "Hi Ana." When did she become this little girl??

She and I had a trip to Chuck E Cheese this week while Dora was traveling for work. OH how she loves the big rat.

She's just growing by leaps and bounds...we were looking at one of her newborn pictures last night, it's hard to remember when she was so small.

Thanks for checking in. Pictures will be on hold until we get our camera fixed. I hope to get it dropped off this weekend so we can resume picture taking.

    Erin

    First High Fever...

Is that considered a milestone? Monday night Arden was whining/moaning in her sleep. We let it go on for awhile to see if she'd quiet down, but she didn't. I went in to get her around 10 I guess. She was sort of asleep but shaking...that stopped when I picked her up and covered her under our blankets for a bit, figuring she was cold since she'd scooted out from under the blankets.

She went back to sleep and back to her crib, but woke up upset around 12. I went to her room, got her and she was burning up. Took her temp, 103.9. Then she threw up, all over the comforter (but missed the new flannel sheets, good girl ;-) ). We called the ped, since that was a very high fever. She said something was going around, to give her motrin and keep an eye on her, if it didn't go down, call again. Fabulous.

We stripped off her fleece sleeper, gave her motrin and then I took her downstairs so Dora could attempt sleep since she's at her new job this week.

I turned on Elmo (of course) and she fell asleep on me and woke up when the fever broke, around 1AM. After it broke she wanted to get up and dance, I kid you not.

She ended up spending the night on my chest, and then from about 5AM until 8 in our bed. I stayed home from work yesterday but she was fine all day, so is back at school today.

I hate when she's sick, but she sure was cuddly yesterday and it's so rare to get those cuddly moments these days.

Thankfully last night she didn't fight sleeping in her crib ( i worried she would) and slept all night long, not a peep.

Camera still won't turn on. Eek.

    Hi readers,

We are sadly behind on our photo updating, as usual. We are without a home computer right now, an excuse that doesn't not fly well with Auntie Nette ;-). I will upload pictures if I can get our camera to turn on. I'm hoping it's just a battery problem, but seeing as how it started smoking while we were in Vegas, I fear there is more to it.

We had a wonderful trip to Nevada to see Grandma and Grandpa (who is now "Pops"). Arden reminded them what fun a toddler is. Each mealtime was accompanied by Elmo, the only meal partner Arden believes is worth having.

Christmas was fun, Arden got into after she opened her first present. Of course, each toy had to be played with as soon as the paper was off, so the unwrapping took a long, long time. Her favorite gifts include Leap Frog magnet letters (she knows A, B, I and we're working on "N"); and a tractor that lights up and makes noise (of course).

We visited the Las Vegas Children's Museum, which was great fun, and discovered the joys of Chuck E. Cheese.

We have pictures of all of these events and the MOMENT we can get the camera turned on near a computer they will be put on the site.

She did so well on the flights, especially the flight back. She slept the entire way. In fact, she didn't wake up until we were in baggage claim! That was a red eye flight, and I think I'm all for those now. Much less stressful than trying to keep her happy on a 6 hour flight when she is only willing to sleep for 1.5 hours.

Things she recently discovered she loves: books; Pops' Cal hat; saying "tada"; baths in Pops and Grandma's big tub; and Grandma Joanne's reading abilities (if she was around, no one else was asked to read to her, apparently we don't do it right.)

She's definitely a full fledged toddler. She's wonderful and brilliant and we no longer try to go out to restaurants with her. Except maybe Cracker Barrel.

Must run off to get the child from her first day back at school.

    Erin
