    HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARDEN GRACE!

Our little girl is ONE today. It's hard to imagine it's been a whole year since she came into our lives.

She is a full blown walker as of this past Saturday. She stood up on the lawn at Cracker Barrel and walked away.

    Toddlerhood, here we come.

Quickie (or not since I'm at the keys) because we have so much to share about the PTown family week and I don't have that kind of time now (if that gives any indication of how much there is to share)...

BUT the Buglet has ear tubes!

What a day...Let me start off by saying we're LUCKY that breast milk is considered a 'clear liquid'. I have no idea what we would have done if I had to deny nursing her. I probably would have had to stay with my parents. Seriously... 100 lb dogs trying to attack me just makes me stare them down harder...22 pounds (confirmed today) of pissed off quasi toddler has me diving for cover.

Especially since she stomps her feet now.

    And screams.

    WITH GUSTO.

    But that aside...

Arden was happy enough with nursing and didn't notice having to go without solid food. Liquid breakfast suited her just fine and once we squeaked out of the house she was in a FANTABULOUS mood.....as long as I kept leaning into the back seat to play peek-a-boo with her. I think my neck is forever bent.

Once in the waiting room the Buggy decided to flirt and entice the entire waiting room into playing with her. I've decided she really does love blond men (she had one husband playing and playing with her)...which is great since her future hubby Charlie is a blond hunk of love.

The staff was quick about calling us into the back and Arden donned a mini hospital gown...her diapered butt peaking out the back was too cute for words...if my mind wasn't in a state of panic at this point I would have taken a picture...but like I said I was in a state of panic and rapidly traveling into the capital of said mental state.

Therefore in between keeping Arden entertained and occupied (WHY IN THE HECK DON'T MOTHERS COME EQUIPT WITH 8 ARMS? After all I firmly believe Arden has at least 4, she is just adept at hiding the extra set.)I was amused by a Where Is Waldo book. Some people drink…I apparently wallow with Waldo.

One of the decisions we had to make was which one of us mommies went into the operating room until the Buggy was drugged and out. Erin ended up with honors because we figured I was already doing the two-step (and I CAN'T dance) keeping her away from nursing. Read above if you need a reminder as to my thoughts on dealing with denying Arden.

We were warned that children fight the going to la-la land part of the procedure... Arden once again decided that since they said black she says white and just went to sleep.

The procedure on its own was quick and shocked me with how fast the doc was out and letting us know she was in recovery.

Now he said we'd be called back in 10 minutes...and Erin says it was 10 minutes BUT in my head we then had to wait…oh I don't know...too long will have to suffice...before they came for us...

Them (rushing out and nabbing us): "We were told you were going to nurse her"

Us (rather quizzical at the bedside manner): "Oh is she looking to nurse?"

Them: "She is looking for something."(as door opens a familiar voice echoes... ummm…with strength…. from the walls)

And that was it in a nutshell. She was happy to see us, happy as heck to run around when we got home. Took her regular nap...pigged out on lunch and dinner....

    Not affected in the least.

Her moms on the other hand fully realize why so many moms joke about valium stashes and have decided that we need one also.

    :-) Dora
