Okay so I suppose it is time to start writing about life with Arden :-)
Simply put I adore her. I also adore watching Erin with her... she is an excellent mom.
It was the most out of body experience having her. I kept trying to write my birth story but somehow the words seemed too one dimensional. How can you begin to explain what it was like to have your entire life change in a second? To walk into a room as a couple and walk out of it as a family?
To be handed someone so tiny and real and at that second blossom into a mother?
Perhaps I'll be able to write it soon, and I'll backdate it if the site will let me, but for now.....
I gotta go nurse the High Priestess of Stinky-Pantness

Long time no post!!
What terrible moms we are -- no updating of the site in the month since Arden arrived! Tsk tsk.
Arden Grace was born August 22nd, 2005 at 2:27pm, weighing in at 7lbs, 4oz and measuring 20 inches long. Full head of hair -- came out wailing. The labor was long, but the delivery was fast. I know Dora will be posting the birth story soon. We've been having all kinds of problems with the digital camera and getting the pics downloaded, then we had to lend the camera to D's parents, but I think we're up and running now. Dora is the picture uploader, so I'll talk to her today about updating here with pics.
We are loving loving loving motherhood. It's just incredible. Arden is the sweetest baby, we are so lucky. She sleeps well and eats great (left the hospital at 6lbs 12oz, was supposed to be up to her birthweight by her two week appt and was up to 8lbs 11oz.). She's a very happy baby when she's awake, which is just lovely.
I went back to work last week, after three weeks at home. That three weeks just flew by. However, I'm switching jobs and will have next week off before starting the new one. Tickled purple about that.
Unexpectedly, Arden will have her first plane ride at 5 1/2 weeks rather than 4 months. My grandma passed away a little over a week ago, and the celebration of her life is Oct 1. Will be a long trip (headed to CA), but at least we're flying the wonderful Jet Blue and it's a non-stop flight. We figure she'll spend much of the time nursing or sleeping...not much different from being at home!!
We'll get pics up soon, I promise!!
Love,
ErinComments:Add a comment:
