Hi all....
Well Erin updated you all on the baby stuff... but I've been sitting here thinking all day about a dear friend of ours off FF who just found out that a baby that should have been placed with them was no longer available for adoption.
I am so hurt and angry for Shelli and her DP Narda...and while I know there will be this perfect, beautiful gem of a baby who will need them more than life itself....Right now I would rather sit around with them and cry.
Shelli...go have a martini for me and if you or Narda need anything... know that Erin and I are here for you.
(((((((((((((Loads of hugs))))))))))))))))

38 Weeks 1 Day
Hello Readers ...
Well we made it to 38 weeks. Dora had a lot of cramping and contractions this weekend, but alas, here we are sans baby. Today she hasn't really had much of anything aside from a little pressure in the nether regions. I told her to go for a jog at lunch. She refused. Imagine.
I did purchase some Red Raspberry tea for her sipping pleasure. Yes, I realize we still have 2 weeks until the official due date, but all the contrax got me excited and anxious and now I'm ready for the baby to arrive ;-).
Did some baby laundry this weekend and moved her bassinet upstairs. It'd been down in our living room since I put it together. Letting the dog get used to it and all that good stuff.
I packed the hospital bag last night when I couldn't sleep...but I am guessing we'll be visiting our OB on Thursday, still pregnant.
Off to practice some patience...

37 Weeks 5 days
Hello all --
Quick update. The baby is now measuring at 7lbs 6oz...not a peanut this one!! Dora's already dilated 1 - 1.5 centimeters and is 75% effaced. She's been pretty crampy today, but nothing regular, so it's still just her body consider what needs to be done.
We tossed around induction with the OB. She's a very conservative OB, not huge on intervention at all, which is great. We're just trying to decide what will give us the most chance at a v-delivery. If D's still pregnant on Thursday for the appt, we'll re-evaluate then.
This is craaaaaazy!

Somewhere, somehow I rammed into this awful wall of exhaustion and really if Arden decided to come at this moment I don't see how I'd have the reserves to push her on out au natural. Everyone tells me I'll get some sort of second wind.
I am thinking this is another one of those old wives tales.
In the meantime, I'm peeing every 2.2 minutes, I get fun braxton hicks that involve my back every so often and I'm constantly thirsty.
Now I have the answer to why millions of women go through childbirth....
TO GET THEM OUT!!!

FULL TERM!
Arden is officially full term :-D. We'll find out this week how big she is now, probably in the 7lb range by now.
I'm trying to get an appt for tomorrow evening to have the carseat installed. Tonight we're making a trip to Babies R Us to stock up on some things we discovered we don't have. Little t-shirts for when she's first home, waterproof crib mattress pad, pacifiers...shampoo. The little details!
I'll have to take some pictures of the latest additions to her room, we put most of the stuffed animals that we got at her shower in her room. Turned out very cute.
We received our monitor on Friday (Thanks beckie!), so now we're really ready. She isn't allowed to come until the end of this week at the earliest, since they are just finishing the tile work in the shower today, and it needs drying time.
Time is flying..

36 Weeks 2 days
Hello all --
Pictures of our shower gifts are posted now -- still waiting on pics of the actual shower. It was a wonderful day. Completely overwhelming, I meant to take pics with our camera but we sort of walked in and were bombarded with people.
The party was well attended, I think the last count was 60 people. We got so many gifts, lots of stuff our registry, almost everything big really. We sure are lucky! The shower is getting rave reviews thus far ... can't go wrong with a chocolate fountain and 1lb boxes of chocolate as favors.
Our crib and armoire are in now too -- her room is the most beautiful room in the house!
Not much longer now -- D's feeling pretty blah these days. Lots of pain as baby sits in weird spots. Sorta hoping for a 37-38 weeker!
