27 weeks 2 days.
Wow :-). Things are still moving along well. We have a check up this Thursday, at which time I'll get the next u/s scheduled so we can check her size. And hopefully determine that she is still a SHE-- because otherwise I'm going to be posting a lot of clothes on ebay! Grandma gave us three more bags of clothes this weekend. Eek. Lovely things, but YIKES.
We found curtains for her room this weekend. Lovely gorgeous lavender sheer drapes, with roses on the top that have sage colored leaves. Perfect perfect. And cheap, because we found them at the Christmas Tree Shop.
Now we just need to invest in some room darkening shades. Need to check into that before too long.
She's still moving and grooving a lot, but has this tendency to roll onto a nerve that is super painful for D. Trying to get her to roll away from it is a chore.
Stubborn little thing already.

Leaving work shortly to go get Dora so we can meet the potential daycare folks. She's 3 months away from being born and we're making sure we're at the least on a waiting list, but hopefully reserving a spot for her in the next month or so. The daycare we are looking at is a chain, and they happen to be putting one in the same building that Grandma and Grandpa's factory is in! It's actually in their old factory space, they moved down the hall at the beginning of the year. Anyway, that location isn't up and running until June, but we're going to take a look at the one that is one town over to see an operating facility.
Our friends just visited the operating one this week and loved it and loved the E.D. They may end up taking their son there (he's due a few weeks after ours is). We won't, just because we love the idea of Gma and Gpa being down the hall. If they hear her crying and no one is doing anything about it, I imagine they'll just pop right over.
Hate the idea of her being in daycare, but there is absolutely no other option for us, we both have to work, we need both our paychecks in this obscenely expensive state.
Our next appt. is a week from today. After that it's every two weeks. Already!!!

So the little Doodlebug has found some sort of place to stick some sort of little body part that pinches some sort of nerve...
Translated... someone is sticking a knife to the right of my groin.
Just figured you all needed to know that.
Also...what happens when you take one 100 year old home and start to use the 100 year old pipes????
You all guessed it... plumbing disaster!
Some part of our old shower (which I think is not quite a 100 years old, more like 1910) went KAAPUTTTTTT... and we had water streaming from light fixtures, door ways and the ceiling yesterday. This means all showers will commence at future grandma's house until we locate a contractor and a miracle to afford said contractor.
You're all jealous, I know you are :-)
Next entry.... the Dental Hygentist from HELL. But later, after I finish taking out the hit on her.

Success!! We bought the baby's crib last night. It was quite a topsy turvy event, but we ended up with a gorgeous crib that will last her a lifetime (since I already know I don't want her to ever grow up!) ;-)
Won't be delivered for at least 10 weeks, but at least it's ordered!

25 weeks 4 Days
Nearing the 3rd trimester already?? Time is flying.
We finally hooked the camera up to the computer and downloaded pics. What a miracle. Now I will hold D down and make her take a belly shot. I hate having to set things up on the computer, but really I'm so excited that we can now share pics!! Of course it's set up on my work computer, now we need to conquer the home one.
We are going crib shopping tonight and we WILL pick one out and order it. Yay!! We'll take a picture and post it of the floor model we pick out.
We spent awhile last night in the baby's room, hanging up clothes from grandma (refer to the pics). I bought 4 packs of 10 hangers a couple of weeks ago and I'm now getting low on hangers. Scary.
Trying to figure out how we are going to set up her room, what will go where, all that good stuff. Kind of fun to be in there.
We've got lots to do around the house befor she comes. A serious, serious purge of all the stuff we never use and never will use. One closet at a time!!!
Hope everyone is well!!

Well.... so flying across country while Doodlebug gets to pick what position is comfortable for her NO matter what I might think about her choice is NO FUN.
Oh by heaven above...last Friday's flight out to CA just about killed me. I think I was ready to crawl out of my skin by the time the plane landed and I LOVE to fly. I mean where else can you sit back and read for 6 hours and not feel gulity about it? But this time.... I tried pushing her around...using the lavatory to perform odd stretching excercises... darn kid wouldn't budge and inch. Flight home on Sunday she was more willing to negotiate and I managed to relax a bit.
I would also like to report I had to use a seat belt extension. Huh. Didn't realize I'd actually grown all that much with this pregnancy.

Oh My God.
Doodlebug... get the heck off Mama's bladder. Mommy told you to this morning... I was right there and I HEARD her.
Our little girl has decided that my bladder is the best place to rest...now as cute as that is, it is very inconvenient when you're bent over the porcelain goddess first thing in the morning because morning sickness makes a return... and well...
suddenly you realize you haven't any bladder control.
So...darling baby.... MOVE.

Yesterday was 24 weeks!! SIX MONTHS!!
Wow. Incredible.
We had a very doodlebug focused weekend. As we start barrelling down on August 28th, we decided that the child will need furniture, and that we'd better just suck it up and go really pick a crib. So we did. Almost. Well, it's down to two that are in an acceptable price range and that are convertible and that we really love the style of. Both are super sturdy. Of course, I prefer one and D prefers the other. We brought Grandma Mary yesterday to show her the ones we like but she ended up just pointing out other ones that she liked as well. I think though, that we will still pick between the original two. We need to pick soon though, as one takes 14-16 weeks to deliver, and well, we only have 16 weeks left if the kiddo comes on time. Of course, as much as I'd love the nursery to be done by the time she comes home, it's okay if it's not, since she'll be in a bassinet for awhile. We also have an extra dresser we can use for her clothes (well, we're already using for her clothes) until the furniture arrives.
We also started our registry, which was quite the trip. How can one little human "need" so much stuff?? Sigh.
She was moving and grooving all weekend, really enjoys the bladder as a resting place.
Hope all of our readers are well.

23 weeks 5 days
YIKES. We're moving along aren't we? We had an OB appt. yesterday. Everything looks good, her heartbeat was fabulously strong at 157. Baby girl does not enjoy being probed with the h/b machine though.
We need to register. Our weekends have been far too full recently, plus we lost a weekend to the flu. Good times. We also need to officially decide on her crib. The one we originally picked out just doesn't seem to be very sturdy.
D's feeling pretty sore these days, hopefully it is just Arden growing and constantly kicking.
We swear we will take belly pics and post them soon. As soon as we figure out how to get the pics from the camera to the computer. Hee.

Yawn....
Mondays are always so hard to just get yourself going....
Anyhow... the Doodlebug is getting stronger, in fact she managed to startle me last night when she was annoyed at the position I was trying to fall asleep in (the RECOMMENDED ONE! Darn kid won't listen to reason)....she just wacked me hard on the hip, I jumped....she seemed satisfied and we all went to sleep.
I think we'll have to post a belly shot. I think I am finally starting to look pregnant enough, though with the way I'm carrying I still think it just looks like a spare tire.
My blood sugars are starting to pull a funky dance.... We're starting to take bets on when I'll have to take insulin. Considering that I sort of knew I'd end up needing it I guess I should be happy I've gone more than half way without it. I'd still like to see it go a tiny bit longer...
